Aside from Sophie's establishment of Mutant Town as a viable setting the book is pretty bland.

Although there is a lot to like about DC's New Wonder Woman and the potential of the series I wasn't impressed by the issue.

I won't spoil any specifics about who dies in this review but I will say that what goes down is pretty brutal and still sad to read.

Future State Batman/Superman #1 provides some much-needed context for the event and by extension makes all of the tie-ins much stronger.

Fallen Angels was one of the first real duds in the Dawn of X line of titles. In hindsight, it should have been a red flag to the fanbase.

This is a perfect intro for these characters and I hope the story has a life beyond Future State.

Jupiter's Legacy isn't as sharp as any of the aforementioned series but I get the appeal and why it's been picked up by Netflix.

If you're totally disconnected from Wally's history, this is simply a pretty dark and morbid Flash story.

Hawkman #6 is another solid installment in what has become a thoroughly underrated series.

Future State: Dark Detective #1 is the first comic I've read that seems to get what a "Grounded" Batman looks like.

I did smirk a few times while reading Wonder Twins #4 but ultimately the issue was a dud.

Swamp Thing is definitely at the top of the Future State pile.

Daphne Byrne has moved from the realm of vaguely interesting to the point of actually being captivating.

Superman of Metropolis #1 is a pretty comic but it has problems under the hood.

Batman & Dracula: Red Rain would have disturbed me as a kid and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

You may get more out of the issue if you're a Harley Quinn fan but I'm not sure that this comic needs to exist.

Michael Avon Oeming and Taki Soma have done is taken the Norse Myth of Ragnorox and use it as a springboard into something really cool.

If you're willing to invest in this story The Next Batman may turn into something great but as it stands it's too early to say.

There's a lot more to the town of Stillwater than you'd suspect and even then you'd probably be wrong.

Generations Shattered is the single best DC comics reading experiences that I've had in a long time.
