Ghostbusters IDW 20/20 Review

Ghostbusters 20/20 represents all of my hopes and fears for the new movie in a 40-page package.
As you may or may not know the new Ghostbusters film is slated to coincidently be released in 2020. The rumors are that the movie will be mixing the old crew with a new set of teenage Ghostbusters fleshing out the cast and continuing the series as a direct sequel to 1989's Ghostbusters 2.
With the background noise out of the way. This comic is pretty bland. It's great to see the old Ghostbusters again but this story isn't particularly memorable and none of the new characters, The Sanctum of Slime are all that memorable.
After a routine bust, one of the ghosts manages to fool the trap into giving a false read as captured. While the kids are away the malicious spirit decides to attack "The Real Ghostbusters".
It's not a particularly deep story. The art didn't really make an impression with me and I found myself feeling sad. There is a distinct possibility that the next film will be some permutation of this comic. A last-ditch attempt to resuscitate a dying franchise.
